Sales Orders
Selling goods and services to customers is the reason you are in business. Tracking information about a sale is essential so that you deliver what was promised. Information entered about a Sales Order is also the source for accounting transactions and sales history reporting.
In GrowPoint, the Sales Order is broken into three types of information:
- Order Heading
- Line Item Details
- Order Totals
When a customer is sold something, a Sales Order is created identifying detailed information about the sale.

Search for Sales Orders with the List Tab
The List tab is used to locate existing Sales Order records. The List tab is broken into two sections: Search Criteria and the Search Results. Before a Sales Order record can be edited, the record must be found by the system. The Search Criteria feature allows specific records to be displayed in the Search Results area.Find Now and New Search Buttons
You may lookup Sales Order records by Order Number, Order Date, Ship Date, as well as Bill To and Ship To Customer Codes. Each of the search fields has a “From” and “To” column that allows searching for a range of codes, numbers, or dates. For example, to locate all Sales Order records with Order Dates between 06/02/2011 and 06/30/2012, enter the dates in the corresponding search field and press the Find Now button. The New Search button is used to quickly clear the search criteria fields so another search can be performed.Omit Posted Orders:
This checkbox is usually checked ‘on’ because you don’t usually need to locate posted Sales Order records. In this case, posted orders indicate that the Sales Order has been posted to General Ledger only. If you want to locate a posted Sales Order, uncheck this box before pressing the Find Now button. In GrowPoint, you may not change or edit a posted Sales Order record. All changes to a posted Sales Order must be handled by entering a Credit Memo for to order.
Omit Posted to Inventory w/ Zero Totals :
Use this checkbox to omit Sales Orders that have been posted to Inventory, but don’t have any dollar amounts. For example, you ship some items to a customer at no charge. Even though the order has been shipped, it is never posted to the General Ledger because it has no dollar amounts.
